Purpose : This paper was conducted to predict the Sudan’s aftermath of the removals from State-sponsored Terrorist countries from the U.S. and provides the implications to Korean companies for investment and trade to Sudan. Research design, data, methodology : Sudan is located in the north-eastern areas in African continent and possessed the biggest territory until the independence of South Sudan in 2011. Former President Al Bashir seized the power for 26 years and the government has been committed several terrorism acts against the U.S. embassy and miltiary vessels. As a result, Al Bashir was ousted from a military coup collaborated with Sudanese in 2019 and ever since the transitional government was established. The research explored the analysis of the economy, trade, hazards of insurance using Sudan as a case model. In addition, the article highlights the new relationship with the US government after a lifting ban on the sanctions posed to Sudan for 28 years. Conclusions : Sudan has many potentials to cooperate with Korea in the wake of the biggest investments from Daewoo in 1990s. Currently, Korean automobiles are accounting for about 70 percentage of passenger auto market share and Sudanese buyers are eager to make a business with Korean products. The positive country and product images to Korea is quite noticeable in Sudan, however, the trade and investment risks are relatively high, too. Therefore, this paper considered the various strategy of trade and investment especially in terms of trade insurance and finance. Korean companies could build a proper strategy to penetrate the market carefully examining the pros and cons of the various aspects.
